Welcome to the North Shore Canoe Club!
Located on the shore of beautiful Lake Pupuke in Takapuna on Auckland’s North Shore, the North Shore Canoe Club welcomes members from all ability levels.
Whether you're fit or unfit, novice or elite, youth or masters ages groups, whether you're a canoe sprinter honing your technique or a multi-sporter building up endurance - the North Shore Canoe Club is an ideal base for all!
We are proud to support both high performance athletes as well as those who just love the water and want to paddle to keep fit. Some of New Zealand’s greatest paddlers across canoe sprint, marathon and multisport disciplines have learned to paddle and built their talents here at our club. This includes kayaking greats such as Olympians Ian Ferguson, Paul MacDonald, Lisa Carrington, Ben Fouhy, Steven Ferguson, Erin Taylor, Lisa Carrington, Aimee Fisher, Teneale Hatton, Caitlin Ryan and Alicia Hoskin. Multisport elite club members include Coast to Coast’s legend Gordon Walker. We are also pleased to support the majority of Canoe Racing New Zealand’s current High Performance Squad, New Zealand Team, and their coaches who train from our facilities.
North Shore Canoe Club is the largest flatwater sprint club in the country and we take a big contingent of paddlers to Canoe Racing New Zealand's Regional and National regattas every year. You don’t need to own your own boat or paddle to participate, the club has plenty of club gear to hire! Whether you just love the water and want to give kayaking a go, maybe wanting to challenge yourself and commit to learning a new sport or you're an experienced paddler new to the area wanting to be a part of a friendly welcoming club to call home - we would love to hear from you!
Our facilities are also available to book for community and private events and we often host other paddling groups for activities such as Waka Ama regattas and surf lifesaving time trials.
We look forward to welcoming you to our club.
